A Little Bit About Me
I spent nearly 20 years playing
gigs and recording music in every spare moment, but I always kept my day job. I
developed a lot of musical skills this way and was able to move in any
direction I liked. I was constantly striving to perfect my songs.
Eventually I decided that I just
had to do music full time and I went to music school. I was lucky to study with
some great teachers and took my musicianship to a level I didn't even know existed.
I specialised in classical composition and modern fingerstyle guitar. I learned
to write a mean arrangement, which led to a few years writing and performing as
the frontman for a nine-piece funk band. I graduated with a pretty tidy degree
and I’ve spent the time since then building up my teaching work, whilst writing
arrangements and performing in various bands, mostly as a guitar for hire.
I’m just now starting to build up
my gigs and performing again.
This is an exciting time and I’m in the process
of forming a new band to get some of my music out there in a way that it has
never been before.
